In both classical and contemporary settings crown mouldings enhance the architecture of a room. All cornices, crowns and cove mouldings are used to create visually appealing connections between walls and ceilings, but crown moldings add their own architectural imprint to the room by the use of elaborate ornamentation. There are many different classifications of ornamentation but the standards are “egg-n-dart”, “dentil”, “lamb’s tongue”, “brackets” and many different leaf variations.
